renu

Capsules with activated charcoal, dandelion, N acetylcysteine, L glutathione, coenzyme Q10 and chia seeds. Rain states two capsules every morning.
What renu contains
Renu is Rain's capsule product for anyone who wants a daily capsule rather than a gel or a powder. According to Rain's store, renu is built on six ingredients:
- Activated charcoal, a charcoal that has been treated so that it gets a very large surface area.
- Dandelion, both leaf and root.
- N acetylcysteine, often shortened to NAC, a form of the amino acid cysteine.
- L glutathione, a compound that the body makes itself from three amino acids.
- Coenzyme Q10, which the body also makes.
- Chia seeds.
A container holds 60 capsules. Rain's store does not state the amount of each ingredient per capsule, so read the ingredient list on the container if you want to know exactly how much you get.
How you take renu
Rain states two capsules every morning. At that dose, one container lasts a month. Rain also describes what it calls a renu day, a day of fasting once or twice a month. Fasting does not suit everyone, and if you have diabetes, take medicines or are pregnant, you should talk to a healthcare professional before you try it.
More products and how they are taken are covered in our guide how to take Rain Soul and Rain's other products.
What can be said about renu in the EU
Rain markets renu as a product for cleansing the body of toxins. In the EU there are no approved health claims about detoxification, and no approved claims for dandelion, NAC, glutathione, coenzyme Q10 or chia seeds. For activated charcoal there is an approved claim about reduced gas formation after a meal, but it applies to a dose of at least one gram before and one gram after the meal, and that amount is not stated in Rain's store. We therefore do not repeat any health claims about renu, only what the product contains and how it is taken.
Good to know before you start
Activated charcoal binds substances in the gut. According to the package leaflet for medicinal charcoal from the Swedish Medical Products Agency (Läkemedelsverket), charcoal can reduce the effect of other medicines taken by mouth at the same time, for example contraceptive pills. If you take medicines, ask your doctor or pharmacist how to spread your intake over the day before you start with renu.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, talk to a midwife or doctor first. The Swedish Food Agency (Livsmedelsverket) advises pregnant women to avoid plant extracts. Do not give renu to children without asking a doctor. More about caution is in our article on Rain Soul in pregnancy, for children and with medicines, and always check the packaging and Rain's official information.
